Do funeral Costs Really Increase That much?
The National Funerals Associations Survey from 1975 to the present shows that funeral prices do increase. The average adult funeral costs of a funeral in the Untied States at that time was $1,285. Today, depending on where your funeral is held, the cost is much greater.
Why Are Funerals So Expensive?
When the cost of a funeral is compared to other major life cycle events such as a wedding or birth, funerals are not so expensive. These other events are much happier and are rarely criticized because they bring us joy.
I have my funeral instructions in my will so why should I pre-arrange my service?
While a will is one of the most important documents a person can have, it is usually read after the funeral. Unless other family members are aware of the fact that the will contains funeral instrustions, it may be too late to act on these instructions when the will is read. Or, the will may be in safekeeping in a place that is not accessable on a weekend or holiday. When we pre-arrange a funeral service you are giving a copy of the agreement and copies can be provided for any other family member as well. In addition to the merchandise and services to be provided, the pre-arrangment allows you to record instructions as to the place of service, information for the obituary and eulogy, clergy choice, music selections, organizations taking part, pallbearers and jewerlry you may wish to be left with you.
